What type of curriculum is offered at Creators School?

We offer a comprehensive STEM-enhanced international curriculum that covers a wide range of subjects including Mathematics, Sciences, Technology, Languages, Humanities, Arts and PE. Our curriculum more than prepares students for UK IGCSE and A-Level examinations that enables entry to the world’s best universities.  We also prioritise the development of extensive programmes in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Sciences, and Entrepreneurship to nurture the tech pioneers of tomorrow.

Who are the teachers?

We recruit highly qualified teachers from around the world, who are proficient in English, with international experience in renowned schools. Through a rigorous selection process, we carefully choose the best educators. We then provide comprehensive training, professional development, and competitive compensation to our teachers. 

What languages are offered in Creators?

Our language of instruction and communication is English, with a particular focus on the development of English Language and Literature for students. The school also offers Spanish as a Second Language.

What facilities does the school have?

We have a spacious campus, with modern classrooms, including specialised areas for sciences, technology, innovative learning, humanities, languages, the arts and physical education. We also have an indoor multipurpose space, a theatre, and a well-equipped gymnasium. For sporting activities, we have a basketball court, and a 25m competition swimming pool. We also provide access to padel courts, a golf range and a grass football pitch.

Is there a selective admissions process?

Yes, students need to write and pass a mathematics entrance test. We then spend time getting to know each prospective family during the admissions process. It is a unique system, focused on demonstrated ability, potential and best fit.

Admissions

CAN STUDENTS OF ANY NATIONALITY APPLY TO CREATORS?

Admissions are open to international residents in Spain, or Spanish students with permission to attend a British international school. Day students admitted to Creators School should reside either with their parents or with a legal guardian that one or both parents have approved, and that also have a DNI/NIE/TIE or resident permit.

WHAT DOCUMENTS ARE REQUIRED FOR THE APPLICATION?

There are several documents required to complete the application and final registration process. We recommend that you go through the checklist that is detailed in our Admissions Policy and Procedures document which can be found here. Please ensure you have the necessary documents ready to complete the Application Form. We prefer that you upload them with your online application, but you may also submit them to our admissions office.

IS THERE AN APPLICATION FEE? IF SO, HOW MUCH IS IT AND HOW CAN IT BE PAID?

CAN APPLICATIONS BE SUBMITTED ONLINE?

All applications should be submitted online via the online Application Form which can be found here.

WHAT IS THE PROCESS AFTER THE APPLICATION FORM IS SUBMITTED?

Following submission of the application form our team will conduct a final review and notify you of the outcome of the application. If your application is successful, you will receive an offer of a place. The confirmation of a place will be subject to the payment of the enrolment fee and endowment fee, according to the instructions in the offer letter.

WHAT CRITERIA ARE USED TO EVALUATE APPLICATIONS?

Creators School is a STEM-focused school, with an evaluation process designed to identify students with STEM talent that will benefit from our programmes. Students must have previously demonstrated a passion and skill for STEM-related subjects or activities and have satisfactorily completed our entrance test as well as the school visit and evaluation.

WHAT HAPPENS IF MY CHILD FAILS THE ENTRANCE TEST?

If a student fails the entrance test, they will not be eligible for consideration at that time. A student is permitted to re-sit the entrance test at a later date.

CAN I APPLY FOR ENROLMENT OF MORE THAN ONE CHILD?

Yes. Each child would need to be evaluated individually and meet the criteria for admission as per our Admissions Policy and Procedures. Acceptance of one student will not guarantee the acceptance of a sibling. Preference may be given to siblings of existing Creators International School students if they also comply with Creators School's STEM-focused admissions criteria.

Boarding

What age is best for boarding school?

Boarding schools truly flourish with students between 11 and 18 years old. This aligns perfectly with the prime developmental years for benefiting most from a structured, immersive educational environment followed by most of the world's leading educational institutions.

What are the benefits of boarding?

Boarding provides a haven of stability and structure, fostering a sense of belonging for students to thrive in a supportive environment. With excellent sports facilities readily available and the elimination of travel time, boarders have more flexibility with their time, which benefits their academic progress as well as their physical and emotional health. Living and learning alongside students from diverse backgrounds also equips young minds with the essential skills to navigate and contribute to an increasingly interconnected world.

How much does it cost to go to a boarding school? Is it worth it?

While the price of a private boarding school is higher than a day school, it's important to consider the comprehensive experience offered. Beyond our outstanding academic program, boarding provides daily support, meals, comfortable accommodation, a wealth of extracurricular activities, and enriching trips – all seamlessly integrated into student life. This holistic approach goes far beyond the day school experience.

What if my child is homesick?

It's natural to worry about homesickness. Many students experience it during the initial adjustment. Our caring boarding and pastoral staff are here to help. They closely monitor student well-being and provide a supportive environment to ease the transition. With engaging activities and friendly classmates to connect with, homesickness usually fades quickly.

Are there medical facilities available after hours?

Our dedicated school nurse is available on-call for any urgent medical needs. Additionally, our duty staff is all first aid certified and prepared to assist in any situation. Should a more serious issue arise, they will promptly arrange for appropriate medical attention.

Is there adult supervision at all times?

The safety and well-being of our students is our top priority. Our boarding staff members reside on campus, close to the student rooms. Additionally, a dedicated staff member is always present "on duty" within the boarding house until lights-out. Rest assured, in an emergency, support is available 24 hours a day.

What is the student to teacher ratio at your school?

We have a maximum class size of 12 in any class.

Which external examinations do Creators students write?

Our students write the Cambridge IGCSE and A-level examinations.

Which curriculum is Creators using?

We design our own extended curriculum, covering more than the Cambridge curriculum to facilitate subject mastery and university readiness.

At what grade level does the focus on STEM subjects begin?

A love of STEM is ignited early at our school, with a strong foundation built from Year 3. This focus progressively deepens throughout the grades, preparing students to excel in both STEM-related university studies and careers.

Are there opportunities for students who are not naturally inclined towards STEM subjects to excel in other areas?

We believe in balance, so elective subjects allow students to explore interests beyond STEM. Yet, as a STEM-focused school, all students must build a strong STEM foundation through engaging, mandatory courses.

What specific subjects are covered within "languages" and "social studies" in the primary school?

At this stage we offer English at first language level and Spanish at second language level. Social studies has components of history, geography, economics and global perspectives.

Do students write examinations at Creators?

Yes, annual examinations are one of the many assessment tools that we use to provide feedback for teachers, students and parents/guardians about student progress.

Which external examinations to Creators Students write?

In Year 10 our students write the Cambridge IGCSE examinations and in Year 13 they write the Cambridge A-level examinations.

Smaller class sizes allow for more personalised attention and tailored feedback, enhancing the effectiveness of both teaching and learning.

For the research project, will students receive guidance on choosing a topic and research methodology?

Yes, our teachers guide our students on how to go about choosing an interesting and meaningful topic that resonates with their interests. Teachers also provide training in research methodologies.

The STEM research initiative represents the apex of our students’ educational journey, providing a platform for them to showcase their passion and mastery in a specialised area. Written progress reports are made available to parents/guardians at both half-term and end of term.

Yes, all students are required to have lunch at school for which there is a fee.
