We are pleased to announce that Creators International School has now appointed its Founding Head of School.
Mr Joseph Short joined our team officially on 1st May 2026 to be part of the final preparations for our school launch in September 2026.
Mr Short has held multiple roles across different schools both in the UK and in Spain. He has been a Mathematics Teacher, Head of Department, Head of Data and Student Progression and most recently he has been the Head of Secondary of a large International School in Spain.
Mr Short brings a wealth of experience to the role of Head of School at Creators and we are extremely excited about what he will bring to the school. His first work will be to complete the recruitment of our other staff members and oversee the final building works on our new school site so that we are ready for the September launch. He is very excited to meet our families and be part of the process of welcoming them to the Creators community.
Originally from Liverpool, England. Mr Short attended Lancaster University where he studied for a Masters Degree in Mathematics and graduated in 2015. He then moved back to Liverpool, where he taught Mathematics in a large Secondary School. Whilst teaching at this school, he completed his Teacher Training through the Teach First Programme. He also worked on his Masters in Educational Leadership and Management from The University of Manchester during this time.
In 2017, he moved to Spain and worked as the Lead Mathematics teacher at a school in Sevilla. This was his first taste of international teaching, and he quickly fell in love with the Spanish culture and way of life. He moved to Murcia for a promotion as the Head of Faculty for Mathematics and Computer Science at a school there in 2019. During this time at his school in Murcia, he was promoted to Head of Data and Student Progression which was a whole school role and appealed to his Mathematical mind. In 2024 he moved to Marbella and became Head of Secondary at a large international school where he was responsible for the academic and pastoral provision of many students.
Alongside Mathematics, Mr Short is a keen hiker and loves to be in the mountains. He will often be found walking the hiking trails with his dog, Luna. He is engaged to his fiancé, Ellen, and looks forward to building a family with her in the future.
